Wilson School of Dance wraps season with festival wins and recital
By Sherri Wilson and Stephanie Hauck
Another wonderful year at Wilson School of Dance has come and gone.
Dancers began classes in October and wrapped up with our home recital this past weekend, April 25 and 26.
Each week, dancers met at the studio with other dancers their age and started learning choreography.

In March, we attended our first festival in Stettler, and in April, we attended two festivals, both in Olds. Our small town was well represented by our studio. While some of our dancers dance just one hour a week, they shine on the stage, and are able to win awards against dancers from cities dancing eight-plus hours each week. Their hard work and dedication really paid off this year with many high gold medals and top awards.
We wrapped up our season with a well-attended annual two-show recital, where the dancers wowed the crowd. As teachers, we are so proud of all our dancers.
Looking ahead, our studio is hosting its second annual summer dance camp. This camp will run August 24 to 28 at our studio. The camp is designed as a bridge between summer break and the regular dance season. It will get dancers back into dance mode by conditioning, training, and learning choreography. The camp is open to dancers aged four and up.
