Rod and Gun Club celebrates trophy day and youth award winner

The Rod and Gun Club hosted their annual trophy day and supper on Feb. 28. A beautiful display of wild game mounts and recently harvested heads was scored by Rick McDonald, Dave Jeskie, Dave Trotter, Francis Satherly, Darcy Allen, and Chad and Bryce Dillabough.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious wild game supper prepared by a few members of the Rod & Gun Club. Thank you to everyone who donated wild game for this meal.
The recipient of the 2026 John Andersen Memorial Youth Award was Ayden Andersen. He received an engraved knife, which he was very grateful to win in his last year of youth hunting.
The crowd was entertained with cowboy poetry by Del Pratt and Bill Thompson.
The silent and live auctions had lots of great items again this year. These are very helpful, as the Rod and Gun Club supports many local groups.
