Spring brings smiles and busy days at Oyen Lodge
By Dianne Spath

Hello Everyone. April is done so Spring has finally sprung, and it's putting smiles on people's faces as they enjoy some beautiful weather. The residents have been really enjoying walks and sitting in the sun, appreciating the warm spring air. It's time to prepare the flower beds for some new plants. If anyone wants to part with any perennials, the Lodge will gladly accept some for our flower beds and for the pond area.
Exercises was Monday morning's first activity, followed by a one-on-one Scrabble game. In the afternoon there was bingo.
Tuesday morning started with exercises, followed by the regular shopping trip downtown. Father Rodell led Catholic Church before lunch. In the afternoon the residents enjoyed their choice of ice cream floats, banana splits or sundaes.
Wednesday morning there was Church with Brad, followed by card games and crossword games. In the afternoon there were shuffleboard games.
Thursday morning started with exercises, followed by a game of Dominoes. In the afternoon the residents enjoyed some shopping at the Lodge with the clothing company, "Clothes 2 You by Jodi" from Coronation.
Friday morning started with exercises, followed by horse races. Horse #2 - Mariah had the winning streak that day. Maximum Hearing was at the Lodge from 10:00 - 3:00 in the family room. Maximum Hearing will be at the Lodge again on May 8th and May 22nd. In the afternoon there was bingo, and in the evening there was music by Jorgenson's.
Happy Birthday to Mary Loose on May 1st. Happy Birthday to Phyllis Peterson on May 6th.
Have a great week everyone and enjoy the beautiful spring weather.
"May is proof that change can be beautiful and blossoming one day at a time."
