Library craft program draws families after school

The Acadia Municipal Library is celebrating community involvement and new programming this month.
Brian Hoffmann was the winner of the library’s “Love Your Library” draw.
The library is currently hosting a weekly after-school craft program, with two sessions remaining. Paper snowflakes will be made March 12, followed by a St. Patrick’s Day-themed craft on March 19. Activities take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and families are welcome to attend.
This week participants are making snow globes, while last week’s craft featured foil embossing. Library staff reported a strong turnout for the program. Books on more advanced foil embossing techniques are also on display in the non-fiction section for those interested in learning more.
The library will also host a family movie afternoon featuring Aladdin. The viewing will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m., with free popcorn and juice provided.
An Easter Egg Hunt will begin March 24 and continue throughout the Easter break. During that time, library patrons may receive an Easter egg when borrowing a book. The hunt will continue until all eggs are found.
Library members also have access to Transparent Language Online through TRAC, a free digital resource offering instruction in more than 110 languages.
Several new titles have recently been added to the library’s collection, including A Mother’s Shadow by Joy Fielding (adult fiction), Pretty Monster by Sheridan Anne (young adult), If This Buffalo Coat Could Talk by Wilfred Burton and Dragon Tales by Dav Pilkey (juvenile fiction), and Beast Friends by Shannon Hale (graphic novel).
Residents are encouraged to follow the Acadia Municipal Library on Facebook for updates on upcoming programs and events.
