Summer savings at Alberta museums and sites

Alberta families and visitors can access free and discounted admission at provincial museums and historic sites this summer through the federal Canada Strong Pass program.

Children and teens 17 and under get in free. Young adults 18 to 24 pay half price. There is no limit on visits during the program period.

The pass covers all provincial museums and historic sites, from Historic Dunvegan in northern Alberta to the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre in the south. No physical or digital pass is required. Discounts are applied automatically at the door.

"Alberta's museums and historic sites bring history to life," said Andrew Boitchenko, Alberta's Minister of Tourism and Sport. "Through the Canada Strong Pass, our government is making it easier than ever for families and young people to explore Alberta's heritage."

Meaghan Patterson, executive director of the Royal Alberta Museum, said the program gives more families access to exhibits exploring Alberta's diverse stories.

Federal Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture Marc Miller said the pass connects Canadians with cultural experiences across the country while reducing cost.
