RCMP continue to investigate the death of Fatima Ahmed

BROOKS, AB - Brooks RCMP with support from the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the death of 20-year-old Fatima Ahmed. RCMP continue to work with the Office of the Chief Medial Examiner to determine the cause of Fatima’s death.

Although a cause of death has yet to be determined, there is no indication of an ongoing risk to the public.

The Alberta RCMP are aware of several social media posts providing erroneous information with regards to this investigation. As members of this community, we understand the fears and anxieties that such erroneous posts can generate. RCMP are advising that citizens should take what is circulating on social media with some skepticism, especially when there has been no official police report or warning issued. We recommend that the public rely on verified information from trusted sources.
