Brooks RCMP looking for suspect vehicle in fatal hit & run

TILLEY, AB - On August 25, 2025, at 4:10 a.m., Brooks RCMP responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Highway 1, near Range Road 131. Upon arrival, a damaged vehicle was located with the doors open and a deceased person was located on the side of the road. Initial investigation has determined that the deceased hit an animal and was checking his vehicle when he was hit by another vehicle. The vehicle which hit him did not remain on scene.

The deceased was identified as a 30-year-old male resident of Andrews, Alta. RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The investigation continues. There is reason to believe the suspect vehicle is a grey or silver 2016 Volkswagen which will have damage to the drivers side.
