Prairie Crocus Community Fund awards $51,500 to six regional projects
SPECIAL AREAS — Six community organizations across Special Areas #2, #3, #4 and the MD of Acadia are receiving a combined $51,500 through the Prairie Crocus Community Fund as part of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta's 2026 Spring Community Grants.
The Prairie Crocus Community Fund is a local endowment held by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta. Donations are invested permanently, with annual earnings awarded to projects that address priorities identified by a local volunteer advisory committee.
This year's recipients are:
Acadia Valley Sunset Club received $2,500 for its Sunset Stretch and Strength Initiative.
Alberta Pioneers Association of Hanna and District received $4,000 for HVAC, furnace and air conditioning upgrades.
Altario School received $10,000 for the Altario Accommodation Project.
Consort and District Medical Centre Society received $25,000 for its Senior Primary Care Access and Clinical Capacity Initiative.
Diamond Jubilee Recreation and Cultural Centre Society received $5,000 to replace its furnace.
East Central Regional 4-H Council received $5,000 for the East Central 4-H Exchange Program.
The Prairie Crocus Community Fund supports projects that enhance quality of life throughout the region by investing in local initiatives that strengthen communities and improve services for residents.
The Prairie Crocus grants are part of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta's 2026 Spring Community Grants program, which distributed more than $332,000 to 35 charitable organizations across southeastern Alberta this spring.
