Lynda Grudecki Wins $10,000 Oyen Lions 50/50 Draw

Lynda Grudecki, ticket #0597, has won the $10,000 Oyen Lions 50/50 raffle. The draw took place on Dec. 31, 2025, during the Bullarama at the BCAS Crossroads Centre in Oyen. Grudecki received her cheque the following day, Jan. 1, 2026.

The other half of the raffle proceeds will support public skating and swimming in Oyen, scholarships, and other community initiatives.

Past winners include Margaret Berg, originally from Oyen and now living in Medicine Hat, who won in 2024, and Edward Peterson from Hanna, the 2023 winner. In 2022, eight winners shared a total of $5,000, with prizes ranging from $50 to $3,500.

The raffle has evolved over the years. Before the $10,000 prize, tickets sold for $10 and winners received cash prizes or a trip to Hawaii.

The Oyen Lions Club thanked everyone who supports its ongoing efforts to benefit the community.
