Badlands Baseball Academy seeks billet families for 2026-27 season
The Badlands Baseball Academy is looking for billet families in the community to host student-athletes for the 2026-27 season.
Players arrive at the end of August and stay until mid-June, returning home for the summer to join their local teams.
The academy says billet families provide a safe home, encouragement and a sense of community while athletes pursue both academic and baseball goals.
Families who participate receive a $6,000 seasonal stipend to help cover hosting costs, along with official team gear and access to a local discount card offering savings on hotels, groceries and services in Medicine Hat.
Billet families are also invited to games and team events as part of the Badlands program. Respite support is available to ensure players are cared for if a host family is unavailable.
The academy says many billet families form lasting friendships and connections through the experience.
Potential hosts are asked to have a spare bedroom and an interest in supporting young people. Families, couples and empty nesters are all encouraged to apply.
