Will Tateson

My name is William Stewart Tateson, and I am proud to be graduating today as a member of this SCHS class. I would like to start by thanking my parents, Candace and Ben for everything they have done to help me reach this point. My educational journey began at Oyen Public School, where I made my first friends and learned the basics of being a student. Eventually, I moved on to South Central High School to finish my senior years and prepare for the future.

When I look back at my time at SCHS, my favourite memories aren’t from the classroom, but from the time spent with my teammates. Whether it was long, loud bus rides to away hockey games, or the grit of playing high school baseball, those moments shaped my high school experience. There is nothing quite like the atmosphere in the locker room after a hard-fought game, or the jokes told on the road; those are the memories that actually stuck with me.

When I’m not at the rink or on the diamond, I’m usually out fishing and enjoying the outdoors. I’ve always preferred being active and working with my hands, which is why I am thinking of working in the oil patch after graduating. I am ready for the long hours and the hard work that comes with the industry. I am grateful for my time at SCHS, but I am even more grateful to start this next chapter of my life.
