Marissa Cowan
My name is Marissa Jayden Cowan—Riss to my family and Bubbles to my teammates and coaches. I am the middle child of Marie and Scott Cowan, with an older sister, MacKenzie, and a younger brother, Colton. I lived in Oyen until I was 9 and then moved to a farm south of Acadia Valley, where I currently live.
I started my school journey at Oyen Public School with pre-kindergarten to Grade 3, then attended Warren Peers School in Acadia Valley from Grades 4 to 9, and then later attended South Central High School for Grades 10 to 12. While I was younger, I participated in 4-H and have always been involved in sports, which I still enjoy today.
I have played sports my whole life, starting with figure skating at the age of 4, then moving into dance at 11. I also played softball in the spring and volleyball in the fall, and I am currently playing my U18 year of hockey with the 3Cs.
When I am not working one of my many jobs, I enjoy spending time in Three Hills with my cousins and helping my dad on the farm. I am currently in my health care aide program and transferred from Medicine Hat College to Northern Lakes College this year. I plan to earn my bachelor of science in nursing through Medicine Hat College in the future.
