MaKenzie McKain

Hello, my name is Makenzie Jordyn McKain, but I am often called Mak, Kenzie, or Jordyn by those who know me best. I'm the daughter of Cody and Cody Colbe, and Shawn McKain. I was raised south of Oyen on a farm in the middle of nowhere, that's as much a part of me as anything else in my life. I began my school journey at Warren Peers School where I completed kindergarten through grade 9. After that, I made the transition to South Central High School, where I finished out my high school days. In my free time, I keep myself occupied with the activities I love the most. Dance and volleyball are a huge part of my life. I have also had the privilege of working at long term care in Oyen, where I spend the majority of my free time. It allows me to care for others that may not have the independence they once did. Working may have taken up most of my free time, but it's the emotional connection and gratitude in their eyes that make it worth it. One of my favourite sayings is “I'm just a girl”. It makes sure to remind my dad that I'm pretty incapable of most things that relate to cars. Looking ahead, my future plans include becoming a licensed practical nurse, a career that will allow me to continue to help the people who need me the most. I also see myself continuing to live on a farm, building a life that's filled with hard work, passion and of course, success. I have big dreams, one of which is making a lot of money and creating a life that's not only fulfilling to myself but to the people I care about most.
