An outdoor Christmas party? Why not!

If your group loves spending time outdoors, why not organize an outdoor Christmas party this year? It’s an ideal way to create a memorable event, provided you plan it carefully.

Here’s a quick overview.

  • Lighting. It gets dark early in winter, so use lighting to create a magical atmosphere and keep everyone safe. String lights, lanterns, spotlights and headlamps—more is always better!

  • Activities. Plan a friendly hockey game, a walk in the woods, a snowman-making contest or an ice-skating session. If your neighbourhood allows, turn your yard into a dance floor.

  • Food. Serve comforting and delicious dishes. Options like barbecued food, homemade soup, hot chocolate and mulled wine will surely please your guests.

  • Warmth. Keep your guests warm by providing blankets, a patio heater, an outdoor fireplace or hand warmers.

Above all, always have a backup plan. A heated basement or garage can save the day if Mother Nature decides to spoil the party.
