Sturling bonspiel draws 12 teams to Oyen

The Oyen and District Curling Club hosted a Sturling bonspiel from Feb. 26 to 28, welcoming 12 teams for a weekend of fast-paced competition and camaraderie. Teams were divided into four pools, with play getting underway shortly after the draw.

Sturling, a two-person curling format, kept the action moving as each player delivered six rocks per end in six-end games, typically wrapping up in about an hour. The format made for an exciting and engaging experience for both participants and spectators.

Throughout the weekend, the Chuckwagon ensured curlers stayed well fed.

Following the final games, prizes were awarded to the top-performing teams. Generous sponsorship from Special Areas, Dubz Detailing, Chuckwagon and Richardsons helped make the event a success.

Jerry and Marcy Logan did an excellent job organizing and running the bonspiel.
