South Country Co-op to raise funds for local mental health supports
South Country Co-op will raise funds for local mental health initiatives this month through its annual Communities in Mind campaign, running Feb. 9 to 23 at 39 locations across southern Alberta.
The campaign supports community-based mental health organizations within South Country Co-op’s trading area. The co-operative has set a fundraising goal of $25,000.
Now in its fifth year, Communities in Mind began in 2021 at a single Co-op location and has since expanded to include four Co-ops across the province.
Customers can participate by purchasing paper hearts available at South Country Co-op retail locations. Donors are invited to write a name or message on the heart, which will be displayed in stores throughout the campaign.
“This campaign is a true reflection of the compassion and generosity of our community members who understand the importance of mental health supports, and we are thrilled to be a part of it,” said Carmen Hudson, vice-president of brand development and facilities for South Country Co-op.
All funds raised through the campaign will be reinvested locally and distributed to organizations that provide mental health services within the co-operative’s trading area.
More information about the fundraiser and funding requests is available on the South Country Co-op website.
