PROVINCIAL NEWS: RCMP investigate over $130,000 stolen from ATM
LLOYDMINSTER - Lloydminster RCMP have arrested a Calgary woman in connection with an ATM break-in that police say resulted in more than $130,000 in cash being stolen.
Mounties say they responded to a report of a break and enter at an ATM near 39 Avenue and 50 Street in Lloydminster on Dec. 29, 2024, at about 10 a.m. Investigators determined suspects gained entry to the machine and took the cash.
Police say damage to the ATM and replacement costs were nearly $30,000.
RCMP say the investigation included canvassing local businesses for video surveillance and obtaining a number of judicial authorizations. Those efforts led police to identify a female suspect.
With assistance from the Calgary Fugitive Apprehension Team, Mandy Breadlaw, 40, of Calgary, was located and arrested on 26 outstanding warrants, RCMP said.
Breadlaw remained in custody and was scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Wainwright, Alta., on Jan. 15, 2026. She is charged with break and enter, mischief over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
“This investigation required a significant commitment of resources and strong collaboration between multiple policing partners,” Sgt. Christopher Byford of the Lloydminster RCMP said in a statement.
RCMP thanked local businesses that provided video surveillance, along with the Calgary Police Service and the RCMP Southern Alberta General Investigation Section for their assistance.
