Pincher Creek woman killed in rollover south of Brooks
A 35-year-old woman from Pincher Creek was killed in a single-vehicle rollover south of Brooks on April 8, while a child was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Brooks RCMP said officers responded at about 2:10 p.m. to multiple reports of a crash near the intersection of Highway 36 and Highway 539, south of Brooks. EMS, fire crews and peace officers also attended.
Police found a damaged SUV in the west ditch. Medical aid was provided to both occupants, but the woman was declared dead at the scene. The child was transported to hospital and later airlifted.
Investigators determined the SUV had been travelling north on Highway 36 when it crossed into the opposite ditch and rolled.
RCMP said the investigation is continuing, but speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
