Oyen RCMP lay 28 charges after stolen truck, sawed-off shotgun seized

Oyen RCMP arrested two men and seized a stolen truck, a loaded sawed-off shotgun and suspected cocaine and methamphetamine after responding to a trespassing complaint April 20.

A resident reported two people were on a property unlawfully. Both men fled on foot when police arrived but were arrested nearby with help from neighbouring detachments, Alberta Sheriffs Fish and Wildlife division and local residents.

Police recovered a truck stolen from Stettler, a loaded sawed-off shotgun, jaws of life, a slip tank, suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, and numerous other stolen items and break-and-enter tools.

Robert Wade Jameson, 33, of Stettler, Alta., faces 13 charges. Colten Quast-Agema, 35, of Lacombe, Alta., was arrested on outstanding warrants from Lacombe Police Service and faces 15 charges. Offences include break and enter to a residence, mischief over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.

Jameson was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at Alberta Court of Justice in Hanna June 24. Following a judicial interim release hearing, Quast-Agema was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at Alberta Court of Justice in Hanna May 1.

Oyen RCMP thanked everyone involved and encouraged residents to continue reporting suspicious people and vehicles.
