Oyen RCMP charge man in combine fraud case

Oyen RCMP have charged a man in connection with the alleged fraudulent sale of a combine.

The investigation began on Oct. 21, 2025, after a local company reported that one of its combines had been repossessed. The company suspected the repossession followed the use of a forged bill of sale.

Following a detailed investigation with assistance from Leader RCMP, officers arrested and charged Ryan Michael Bennett, 36, formerly of the MD of Acadia, with:

  • Seven counts of fraud over $5,000

  • Forging a document

  • Uttering a forged document

Bennett is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Hanna on Jan. 28, 2026.
