Oyen Chamber wraps up busy late-night shopping season with Christmas Market

By Charmain Snell

The Oyen & District Chamber of Commerce’s last evening of late-night shopping was a busy one.

Ten vendors, including the Clay Cup, joined the Christmas Market.

The big man himself — Santa — took some time out of his extremely busy schedule to help celebrate the season. Tracy Hudson graciously took photos of 36 children and one special puppy who came to tell Santa what they wanted for their Christmas stockings.

Moms and dads brought toys in lieu of payment for the photos. All the toys were donated to the Big Country Hospital. When little ones have to attend the hospital, they can choose a toy to help make their stay a little easier.

All in all, it was a terrific Christmas season. The Oyen & District Chamber of Commerce would like to wish all its friends and neighbours a very merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
