OYEN – The Oyen Chamber of Commerce met on Sept. 25, 2025, with 10 members in attendance. Dinner was provided by Halfway Convenience. Special guests Peter Lundy and Wayne Goodridge joined the meeting to discuss their plans for Zac’s Mobile Home Park, which they recently purchased.
The Chamber is gearing up for the Christmas season, offering home-based businesses the chance to sell their products during three late-night shopping evenings on Dec. 4, 11, and 18. Tables will be available at Schindel Agencies, and interested vendors are encouraged to contact Charmain at 403-664-1404 to book their spots. More details will be released in the coming weeks.
Oyen FCSS will reopen the Youth Centre to host its annual “Santa Hut” on Dec. 6. Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars and contribute to this worthwhile event. In addition, FCSS will hold a free Family Halloween Dance on Oct. 24. The Chamber has donated funds to help provide free candy bags for attendees.
In support of local seniors and residents with mobility challenges, the Chamber also contributed to the Rural Transportation Program through Healthy Aging Alberta. The initiative provides accessible and affordable rides to medical appointments in surrounding communities, including Medicine Hat and Calgary.
The Chamber’s next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., and all community members are welcome to attend.
