Lanfine Wind Community Fund awards more than $21,000 to area organizations

OYEN — Three organizations serving Oyen, Special Areas #3 and the MD of Acadia are sharing $21,110 through the Lanfine Wind Community Fund.

The annual renewable energy grant program, administered by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta, supports community initiatives in the areas surrounding the Lanfine Wind Project.

This year's funding recipients are:

  • Badlands Baseball Academy received $1,110 for the Doug Lehman Field Project.

  • Chinook Applied Research Association received $5,000 for its Summer Safety Camp.

  • Oyen and District Senior Citizen Association received $15,000 for kitchen renovations.

The annual grant program helps fund projects that improve community facilities, recreation and local programming throughout the region.

The Lanfine Wind Community Fund is one of two renewable energy grant programs administered by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta as part of its annual spring grant distribution.
