CTR Catholic Schools exceed provincial averages in assurance results

Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools says its 2024-25 Alberta Education Assurance results show the division performing above the provincial average on all 12 measures.

The results, which assess student achievement, improvement, and overall performance, reflect feedback from students, parents, and staff in CTR’s seven communities.

More than 92 per cent of respondents said CTR schools provide high-quality, engaging learning. Over 91 per cent expressed satisfaction with faith formation, parish partnerships, and efforts to live Catholic Social Teaching.

Grade 9 Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) showed 76.3 per cent of students meeting the acceptable standard and 20.7 per cent achieving excellence, compared with 62.5 per cent and 15.6 per cent provincially. Diploma exams posted 87.9 per cent acceptable and 23.5 per cent excellence, both above provincial results.

Survey results also indicate strong community satisfaction: 92.6 per cent of students, parents, and teachers are satisfied with education quality, while 91.6 per cent said schools are welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe.

CTR students continue to graduate at higher rates than the provincial average. The three-year high school completion rate is 89.1 per cent, and 85.5 per cent of students qualify for Rutherford Scholarships, which support post-secondary study.

“Christ The Redeemer continues to show that academic excellence and Catholic education go hand in hand,” said Superintendent Dr. Andrea Holowka. “These results reflect classrooms where students are supported, belong, and grow in faith.”

CTR credited its success to dedicated administrators, teachers, and support staff. Families interested in registration can contact their local school. Full results are available at www.redeemer.ab.ca.
