CFSEA opens Spring 2026 Community Grant Cycle

The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSEA) is pleased to announce that the Spring 2026 Community Grant Cycle is now open.

In the most recent fiscal year, CFSEA distributed more than $1.77 million in grants to 171 organizations across Southeastern Alberta. This included over $460,000 in Community Grants supporting local initiatives that strengthen belonging, address basic needs, and improve quality of life throughout the region.

Charities and eligible non-profit organizations across Southeastern Alberta are encouraged to apply. Registered charities, municipalities, educational institutions, and qualifying Alberta non-profit societies may submit applications, with CFSEA staff available to assist with navigating the process.

Applications must serve one or more of the following geographical areas:

  • Medicine Hat & Redcliff

  • Brooks & District, including the County of Newell

  • Special Areas 2, 3, 4, and the MD of Acadia

  • Cypress County

  • County of Forty Mile

Important Dates:

  • Letter of Intent (LOI) Deadline: March 4, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

  • Full Application Deadline: March 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon)

Applications are reviewed by CFSEA’s Grants Committee and local Community Advisory Committees, made up of Community Foundation board members and community volunteers who bring valuable regional insight to the decision-making process.

While all eligible applications are welcome, the Community Foundation prioritizes initiatives that support work and economy, connection and belonging, and basic needs, including housing, food, and health. In rural communities, particular emphasis is placed on health accessibility, housing availability, and reducing social isolation
